E-Mail Hoax - New Pepsi Can / Dr Pepper Can Hoax
Ask The Help Desk - What's The Meaning Of "HTTP Error 404 - File Not Found?"
Great Sites To Check Out In October
Short Tutorial - Printing Out Your Address Book

An e-rumor circulating around the Internet says Pepsi will soon be coming out with some new patriotic-themed soft drink cans. Various versions of the rumor state that the cans include an image of the Empire State Building as well as the words to the Pledge of Allegiance. The Pledge, however, is said not to include the words "under God" to prevent offending anyone.

A link found on Pepsi's homepage (http://www.pepsi.com) entitled "FALSE RUMOR ALERT: PATRIOTIC CANS" explains that Pepsi has not created any packaging containing an edited version of the Pledge and that the rumor refers incorrectly to patriotic packaging produced by Dr Pepper last year.

The web page explains that a special edition Dr. Pepper can was created to support patriotic fervor after September 11. The can - pictured on the site - was released last November. It features the Statue of Liberty and the words "One Nation … Indivisible."

"The special packaging was designed to reflect our pride in this country's determination to stand together as one," the site says. " The Statue of Liberty and Pledge of Allegiance were chosen as two of the greatest symbols of American freedom. Only three words were used from the Pledge of Allegiance. Those three words were in concert with the patriotic mood of the nation."

Question: I try entering certain websites and all I get is an "HTTP Error 404 - File not found" warning. The web page I am trying to access will not open. How do I fix this?

Answer: An "HTTP 404 Error" occurs when you try to access a web page that does not exist. Either the web page has changed its name, its location (leaving no forwarding web address), or is literally no longer on the Internet. There is nothing you can do about the situation other than making sure you have typed the URL (web address of the site) correctly.
