Why should all the fun be limited to one computer? Soon, family members will be able to share your Gallatin River Broadband connections among multiple computers. And with Gallatin River Home Networking, you can connect at warp speed - without wires.

For as little as $8.95 more a month, you'll be able to connect an additional computer to your high speed Broadband Internet connection. Plus you'll enjoy the freedom to connect to the Internet from anywhere in your home.

Gallatin River Home Networking gives your entire household simultaneous access to your broadband connection, allowing everyone to surf at super-speed, all at the same time, from any computer, anywhere in your house.

And, with Gallatin River Home Networking, your connection is now wireless. You don't need new inside wiring and jacks to serve hard-to-reach desktop computers. And you can now take your laptop to the kitchen table, outside on the patio, to the bedroom. Work and surf from anywhere; you're not tied down by Internet cables.

The new service, which uses wi-fi technology to beam the Internet through the air to your computer, will be available soon. Watch for more information.

Beware an email purporting to be from bill@microsoft.com or support@microsoft.com. It’s likely a virus – W32.Sobig.C@mm, a mass-mailed worm that sends itself to all the email addresses found within infected computers. The body of the email says simply “Please see the attached file.” The worm spread quickly across the web because the “from” address seemed legitimate, causing the recipient to open the attachment, thereby infecting his computer and sending the worm to everyone in their address book.

This threat is a good reminder to be cautious about opening attachments, especially when the origin is questionable. (But remember, even email that looks as if it’s coming from a reliable source may be infected and may not be sent from whom it appears.) We also encourage users to install virus-scanning software and to frequently update its security software.

Most of the newer versions of email programs include a bonus spell-checking feature. To spell check your messages before sending them, follow these steps.

For Microsoft Outlook, click Tools, then Options, then Spelling. Choose the options you prefer. If you select “Always check before sending,” the program will check every message after you hit the send button, giving you the option to correct misspelled words.

The spell checker will highlight and display the misspelled word along with a suggested correction. It will flag words that aren't in its dictionary. This will include some words that are actually spelled correctly and some names. (See note at the end of this section.)

Choose the correct spelling and then click "Change" or select "Ignore" or

"Skip" to go to the next word the spell checker program does not recognize. If the correct spelling doesn't appear in the list of suggestions, then type the correct spelling for the word in the "Change To" box and click "Change." If the word is spelled correctly, you can add it to the spell checker's dictionary by clicking the "Add" button. Be sure the word is actually spelled correctly before you do this.

Repeat these steps until the spell checker stops giving you suggestions for incorrectly spelled words. The spell check is now complete.
